Ohana Pet provides private, quality in-home training on the island of
Maui in Hawaii. Using positive reinforcement techniques, learn how to be
a good leader and be your pet's best friend.
The number of sessions are tailored to fit your individual needs.
Everyone is different, you are not required to purchase a block of
sessions. Choose one session or ten sessions, it's up to you!
For more serious behavior issues such as fearfulness or aggression, it
will take longer to address the problem. The goal is to make your pet's
behavior as reliable as possible in as short amount of time as possible.
Training should be fun, after all, it's about a
relationship between you and your pet. Training is for everyone.

Private lessons
Private lessons are for behavior modification and instruction in your
home. As a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and behavior specialist, I come to
your home to work individually with you, your family, and your dog.
Private lessons are excellent for solving issues with housesoiling
("accidents", and marking), destruction (chewing and digging),
separation anxiety, food-bowl or other resource guarding, and barking
at nouns, as well as other issues. Private lessons are also great for the
generally well-behaved dog who needs a little fine-tuning in one or more
specific areas, such as pulling on the leash, jumping up (greeting
people), coming when called and more. Private lessons are also perfect
for pups who are too young to leave the home. Start them on the right
paw!
Private lessons are scheduled during the day on Wednesdays, Thursdays
and Fridays. I only take a few clients at a time (about 4 appointments a
week) so that I devote my time and experience to each of you. Please
e-mail or call me to arrange for an initial appointment. Please note
private lessons may not be available for three or four weeks in advance.

There is a cancellation fee if you cancel or miss a lesson without 24-hour
notice.
Semi-Private Lesson
Be the hostess with the mostest! Invite a friend and their dog to join you
for training. The more friends, the more affordable and fun training can
be.
Canine Coaching
Perfect for the busy professional who may not have the time to work
with their dog as much as they would like. Canine Coaching starts with
an evaluation meeting in which we discuss your training goals for your
dog and I demonstrate some of the methods I will use and recommend
management techniques that you can implement at home. This is
followed by three weekly appointments in which I meet with your dog to
train them and have them practice. This is ideal for the teenage dogs (6
months to 2 years of age) who desperately need more exercise but have
no leash manners, for young puppies who need guidance during their
formative weeks, and for dogs with behavior issues that make it difficult
to work with them in public. After each meeting with your dog I leave
you a report explaining what we worked on in your absence, and
suggesting simple, short exercises you can practice before the next
training session.
Field Trips
Are you too busy to take your dog out and exercise them? A tired dog is
a well behaved dog! How would you like to come home from work and
not feel guilty that your dog hasn't been snoozing all day? Ohana Pet will
take your dog to the park, beach, or to play with Steve (Lisa's dog).
Field trips last 1 - 2 hours. To be eligible for a field trip, a behavior
consult is required.
