Dog & People Training - Class Curriculum

Dog training classes are entertaining and interactive for
the whole family. Your dog is never too old to learn new
tricks!

Basic dog training is open to dogs 5 months and older.

Group classes are limited to six dogs per session. VITEC
10 dogs.

Dogs must be current on vaccinations. Proof of
vaccination is required week one of training. Puppies
must have 2 sets of shots.

Classes run approximately one hour per week.

Obedience Classes teach the following commands:
•        Sit
•        Down
•        Stand
•        Come Here (Recall)
•        Stay
•        Heel
•        Loose Lead Walking

Discussion of Problem Behaviors:
Keep jumping, digging, and chewing from destroying
your home. Tackle important issues such as house
training and walking with a loose leash.

Learn how to focus and maintain your dog’s attention as
the foundation of all communication and training.

Learn how to integrate useful commands that will keep
you in control of walks, play and social interactions with
your puppy.

Learn how to effectively communicate with your dog.

In training class we usually use food treats as rewards;
other types of rewards are encouraged as well. Dogs are
encouraged to wear regular collars, head halters, and/or
front-clip no-pull harnesses. Choke chains and pinch
collars are not allowed.

Group classes are perfect for learning basic obedience in
a social setting - but behavior problems, including"leash
reactivity" or on-leash aggression, would be best
addressed in private lessons.
